Russia's RIA Novosti news agency has deleted a publication that contained statements made by a person claiming to be a so-called representative of an illegal formation in Azerbaijan.

The access to this material is not active at the moment and indicates that the page does not exist.

An extensive interview with Artak Beglaryan, who introduced himself as the so-called minister of the illegal formation, caused serious dissatisfaction in the Azerbaijani society.

After the publication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan stated that these materials of RIA Novosti contradict the provisions of the Agreement on Friendship, Security and Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia and the Declaration on Allied Interaction.

"The dissemination of information by RIA Novosti that opposes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and promotes separatist tendencies does not correspond to the spirit of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia and, therefore, causes serious regret," Leyla Abdullayeva, the Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said.
